General Climate Advocacy

If you are looking for general climate advocacy steps and ideas, take a look here. It’s my own thoughts about how to care for the planet in many different ways, including resources.

The MOST important thing we can is mobilize voters. My favorite nonprofit addressing this is Environmental Voter Project . Through simple actions like text and call banking, they mobilize the 12 million voters out there who care about the planet but don’t vote. It’s nonpartisan and isn’t time-intensive!

Others doing similar work:

  • Common Cause is doing important work to reform our election process

  • Vote Save America gives great state-specific information

  • Braver Angels fosters effective bi-partisan conversation

  • We can also individually support candidates running for important seats right now to flip the senate, and that list is on the document mentioned at the top.

Trees are so important for our personal and global health. Urban areas face serious tree Inequity. Consider supporting:

  • Speak for the Trees (and specifically their “Get a Tree” page: growing urban tree canopy in Greater Boston)

  • or Eden Reforestation Project for global tree canopy growth through neighboring farmers and families)
